Quality

The increasing use of slate and natural stone in modern buildings has led to higher demand for these materials and increased competition, resulting in ever-greater quality requirements, such as CE marking or accreditation by ENAC (National Accreditation Entity).

The Laboratory of the Slate Technology Centre has held this latter accreditation since 2007, currently certifying five slate roofing tests.

The need to know the characteristics and performance of each product is also driven by saturated markets and the emergence of new competing countries such as China or Brazil, in addition to strict environmental regulations—factors that have also boosted the commitment to technological innovation.
